The mission of swa media design is to provide solutions that are respectful, personal, comfortable and easy to understand no matter what question, problem or need you may have.

My first introduction to the technical world was during the summer of 1971 working in an office and field support. The office duties included working with a keypunch machine. computer-data-card from THE UNIVERSITY OF IOWA Department of Computer ScienceApprehension of dropping the cards while delivering them to the “main frame” for processing which was in another building was forever a challenge. Even marking the side of the cards didn’t always work when the rubber band broke.

My second introduction began in the mid 1980’s. I learned the basics of languages like DOS, C, C+, C++, Pascal, Linux and PLCC (ladder assembly language). I also worked for a large semiconductor firm as a technician, technical writer, process engineer and project manager.

During this same time  I was also introduced to different productivity software as it is referred to now. I became proficient with Microsoft products, Word, Excel, Power Point and Chart (Gantt charts).

In the early 1990’s I began learning Adobe Photoshop and realized my passion for graphics. Almost 20 years later I expanded my passion into the entire Adobe Creative Suite – Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, LiveCycle and Dreamweaver. I began designing websites and marketing materials for small business and non profit organizations. My passion of graphics helped to encourage my photography. I now incorporate my photographic skills into some of my web site designs. My creative photography can be seen here: www.swaiii.com.

Growing up in a musical family, being a drummer in the 1960’s and 1970’s, traveling the South East Coast as a sound and lighting technician for a band I now am focusing on video production.  I have previously worked with other video photographers gaining valuable experience.

swa media design formally Data Tech Services, LLC was started by Sam Andrews in Durham, North Carolina in the early 1990s. I have been providing one-on-one help for computer challenged clients ever since. Soon after, I started working with nonprofits and small businesses enhancing their IT needs.

With over 27 years of hands-on computer experience in repair and training and working in a technology related field I have become very comfortable in helping people with their computer concerns.

I believe in being attentive, supportive, patient, fun, knowledgeable and understanding.

My goal is to provide you with an affordable, personal, comfortable and easily understood experience no matter what question or problem you may have.
